Updating to the new austhex version (8.1.6) was completed by all servers on or before Sunday 28/06/09-we hope.
A brief update of the changes follows:
- bugfix: user mode +x can now be unset at most once every 60 seconds, this stops clients being able to do “Changing host” floods
- bugfix: channel mode +Q (No Kicks) can only be unset by services and the channel owner (+q), this stops ops quickly removing, kicking, and re-setting the mode
- feature: full support for the mibbit ajax irc client note: this functionality to be activated shortly
- feature: identd module is now re-enabled, while we do not fully agree with the premise behind identd, it will be supported so AustNet has an alternative to banning entire shell providers due to the abuse of a few individuals
- feature: though not version dependent, many servers have used this upgrade to also enable SSL for client connections, please click here for more information.
- bugfix: ghost nick issue should be resolved
- bugfix: the bypasses on +R and +M during a services outage should function a bit better across the network, however if you do find the bypass is still allowing non-registered clients to join/speak after services return, please reset your modes (`clean) and report the issue
Any bug reports, comments, or suggestions are more than welcome in #austnet-dev.
